JAAP STAM - Biography
Jaap Stam, born July 17, 1972, in Kampen, Netherlands, is a former football player and current manager. He played as a defender known for his physical presence and aggressive style. Stam began his career at DOS Kampen, moving to PEC Zwolle, Cambuur Leeuwarden, and Willem II. In 1996, he joined PSV Eindhoven, winning the Dutch Cup, Eredivisie, and Dutch Super Cup. He transferred to Manchester United in 1998 for a then-record fee for a Dutch player. At Manchester United, Stam won the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, Intercontinental Cup, and two more Premier League titles. He later played for Lazio, AC Milan, and returned to PEC Zwolle. Stam retired from playing and became a football manager and consultant.
