Real Sporting Gijón : the history
Real Sporting de Gijón, commonly known as Sporting Gijón or simply Sporting, is one of the most historic and beloved football clubs in Spain. Founded in 1905 in the city of Gijón, in the Asturias region, the club is one of the most important sporting institutions in northern Spain. Its traditional red-and-white striped shirts have become an iconic symbol of Spanish football and represent more than a century of sporting tradition. Thanks to its deep connection with the Asturian community and one of Spain's most passionate fanbases, Sporting Gijón holds a special place in the country's football culture.
Throughout its history, the club has developed and featured numerous outstanding players. Among its most legendary figures is Enrique Castro "Quini", widely regarded as the greatest player in club history and one of the finest strikers Spanish football has ever produced, alongside Joaquín Alonso, Cundi, Abelardo Fernández, David Villa, Luis Enrique and Manolo Preciado. Many of these footballers emerged from the club's renowned youth academy, highlighting Sporting's long-standing tradition of player development.
The most successful period in Sporting Gijón's history came during the 1970s and 1980s. In the 1978-79 season, the club achieved a runner-up finish in La Liga, the highest league position in its history, earning qualification for European competitions. Sporting participated several times in the UEFA Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup, competing against some of the strongest clubs in Europe. Although the club has never won the Spanish league title, it has earned widespread respect for its consistency at the top level and its ability to produce players who later achieved success both domestically and internationally.
The club plays its home matches at the historic Estadio El Molinón, opened in 1908 and widely regarded as the oldest professional football stadium still in use in Spain. The stadium is one of the defining symbols of both Gijón and Asturian football. Thanks to its century-long tradition, outstanding youth academy and strong regional identity, Real Sporting Gijón remains one of the most respected and representative clubs in Spanish football.

Printing Errors in Stickers and Trading Cards: When a Flaw Can Make All the Difference
In the world of sticker and sports trading card collecting, printing errors are among the most fascinating aspects of the hobby. However, it's important to dispel a common myth: not every rare sticker owes its value to a production mistake. In many cases, rarity is the result of limited print runs, uneven distribution, or specific production circumstances. Over the years, publishers?Panini above all?have had to correct numerous mistakes before or during the distribution of their collections. The most common examples include:
From Homeless to Millionaire Thanks to a Trading Card: The Incredible Story of Damian Olivera-Bergallo
The world of sports card collecting is full of remarkable stories, but few are as extraordinary as that of Damian Olivera-Bergallo. After emigrating to the United States and facing extreme financial hardship, he managed to build a fortune through football trading cards—especially those featuring Lionel Messi. While living in his car and working odd jobs as a dishwasher and Uber driver, Damian came across a bag containing a collection of vintage football trading cards. He decided to spend his last €200 to buy it, unaware that the purchase would completely change his life.
INTERVIEW DAVIDE CRANCHI : M.F.A. MAGAZINE
My name is Davide Cranchi, and throughout my life I have always believed in one very simple principle: that true projects are not created merely to occupy a space, but to leave a mark. I am an Italian entrepreneur living in Taiwan, but before that, I am a person who loves to build bridges where others see only distance. Bridges between cultures, between people, between worlds that may appear far apart, yet which, once they find the right language, discover that they are able to move in the same direction. Over the course of my journey, I have brought to life different ventures, all united by the same vision: to create value, create connections, and create the future. On one side

My parents and grandparents would often buy me a pack of stickers after school or when I was well-behaved
INTERVIEW - COLLECT IT DUO
Collectibles CardsGuru (Alberto & Arnaldo), Pavia, @collectibles.cardsguru.
NEW INTERVIEW : GOAL GRAIL GALLERY
My nickname is @goalgrailgallery on Instagram. I'm an Italian living abroad, deeply passionate about football. My collecting goal is to act like an archaeologist, unearthing early and rare cards of the greatest football players throughout history. I have also published my personal list of the key players of each decade, from the 1950s onward, and I try to collect all these greats. I started collecting many years ago. My love affair with football began in 1994, when I watched my first match ? it was love at first sight. Since then, I have spent 30 years following football: watching, writing about it, and, recently, collecting memorabilia. In the 1990s, I built a solid collection of Panini Calciatori albums with my father; we even ordered some earlier editions together. My collecting journey kicked off around 1994?95, then it restarted a couple of years ago.

Al Jugela, South Carolina, USA. I collect more than 500 players whom I believe were among the best of their eras and/or countries from the inception of the game through modern days. I started collecting soccer stickers and cards around 2008 as I have always love the sport (and played it as well). My other collecting interests were nearing and "end" (nearly complete), so it was a natural progression for my collecting.
INTERVIEW : GIANNI BELLINI
