NEW INTERVIEW: Footballpedia05

1. INTRODUCE YOURSELF.

Hello, my name is Duarte Xavier and I am originally from Loulé, Portugal. In this world of social media I am known as Footballpedia05, a project that began in 2019 with the creation of our Instagram page, so that I could share my passion for collecting stickers and cards and football. You can now also find us on YouTube, Tiktok, Facebook and X.

2. WHEN DID YOU START COLLECTING AND HOW/WHY?

I started collecting in 2014 when a friend gave me the album of the Brazil World Cup, which at the time was given with the newspaper "Correio da Manhã". It was from there that my passion for stickers began and today collections are indispensable to me, as they are a way of remembering the good times of the past that collecting can provide.

3. WHAT ARE YOUR MOST VALUABLE ITEMS ?

Looking at my entire collection and choosing the item that has the greatest sentimental value, I would say it is the 2020/21 Portuguese League collection, not because of its beauty or rarity, but because it is from the season in which I managed to see my club (Sporting CP) win a national championship for the first time after many years without achieving this feat. Regarding the item with the greatest monetary value, I honestly couldn't tell you which one it is.

4. HOW MUCH DO YOU SPEND IN STICKERS/CARDS WEEKLY/MONTHLY/YEARLY ?

The amount I spend on stickers per week/month/year is very relative since I only spend when I find something that attracts me.

5. WHICH TEAM DO YOU SUPPORT ?

The football team I support is Sporting CP.



6. NAME YOUR FAVOURITE INSTAGRAM, TIK TOK AND X(TWITTER) ACCOUNTS, BESIDES YOURS !

Regarding my favorite social media accounts, I would have to say Canal Cromo and Dant Cromos & Cards on YouTube because they were the "Portuguese pioneers" of this type of content on this platform and in a way they also inspired me to show my passion for this hobby on social media. On YouTube, I also have to mention the Spanish YouTubers Cromo FC and Davileti 9, who have achieved incredible numbers on the platform. On Instagram, I have to highlight the account Cromo_dg, which publishes fantastic content.

7. HOW DO YOU SEE THE FUTURE OF THE "HOBBY" ?

To be honest, I see an uncertain future for this hobby, which is increasingly straying from its roots, going from being a hobby more linked to feeling and passion to being more related to the market and monetary gain, where collections are becoming increasingly difficult to complete and where speculation has been increasing.

8. DID YOU EVER TAKE PART IN ANY FOOTBALL STICKERS/CARDS FAIR ? IF YES, WHICH ONE ? DO YOU HAVE A FAIR YOU REALLY WANT TO GO TO ?

I haven't yet participated in football sticker/card fairs, due to lack of time, but of course I would like to participate in some in the future.



9. WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE BRAND (PANINI/TOPPS/UPPER DECK/ETC.) ? AND COLLECTION ?

At the moment I don't have a favorite brand. I like Panini and Topps both.

10. WHAT DO YOU THINK OF STICKERSONE.COM ?

I think this is an extremely interesting project with great potential for growth, and it is increasingly becoming a certainty in the world of collecting football stickers and cards.
